“We biked and stopped at different spots and we couldn't stop smiling!”
“Hidden Gems with Edward! - A bike tour through London?! Yes, please! Edward, our guide, was delightful! Charming, engaging, knowledgeable, and fun! My husband and I were the only two people on this tour and it was dreamy! We biked and stopped at different spots (The original Roman wall, the sight of the Roman Arena, a mural in remembrance of the Battle of Cable Street, and, the oldest Riverside Tavern; to name a few). The tour was a tad over four hours and we couldn’t stop smiling!

A good bike tour is not about being fearless. It is about having the right route, the right pace, and the right guide at the front.
Quiet streets, parks, cycle lanes, and guide-managed crossings wherever the route needs a human brain.
Upright bikes, steady pacing, and sensible stops, so the day feels like London opening up rather than a commute.
Private options for families, nervous riders, celebrations, and anyone who wants the route tuned around them.
WHY BIKES WORK
London can feel enormous when you are planning it from a map. The museums are over there, the palaces are down there, the river keeps bending, and somehow a "quick walk" has become 42 minutes and a tense family negotiation.
A bike changes the whole feel of the day. You cover the distance without rushing past the good bits. You roll through parks, along the river, down calmer streets, and into the corners where London starts to feel less like a list and more like a place you have actually met.
By bike, the famous sights start to connect. Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Thames, St James's Park, a quirky pub older than the USA. Suddenly London has personality.
This is a relaxed guided ride, not a Lycra audition. There is time to stop, look, laugh, take photos, hear the story, and recharge before anyone starts feeling sore.
The headline sights are wonderful, but the ride really comes into its own in the in-between: the quiet lane, the street art, the river view, the strange little detail your guide points out just as you were about to miss it.

Your turn
Traffic, children, rain, helmets, meeting points, and the sensible questions that tend to arrive just after someone says, 'Shall we book it?'
No. If you can ride a bike comfortably, you are in the right place. The pace is relaxed, the routes are planned with calmer streets, parks and cycle lanes wherever possible, and there is plenty of stopping for stories, photos and breath-catching.
Most rides use classic British Pashley bicycles: upright riding position, wicker baskets and proper ding-dong bells. Helmets are available, and guests can also wear one of our tweed flat caps if they fancy the full Tally Ho look.
London is busy, so we do not pretend it is a sleepy village. Your guide sets the pace, keeps the group together, and uses parks, cycle lanes, riverside stretches and quieter streets wherever possible. Riders still need to be able to handle a bike confidently in an urban setting.
Your bike, guide, helmet if you want one, tweed cap if you fancy one, poncho if the weather gets dramatic, and the inclusions listed on your chosen tour page. Gin tastings, street-art bits or other extras depend on the ride you book, so check the product card before you choose.
Small-group bike tours are for riders aged 13 and over. If you have younger children, book the Private Family Bike Tour so we can shape the route, pace and kit around your actual family: snack stops, big questions, smaller legs and all. Family kit may include child seats, tag-alongs, trailers and smaller bikes, depending on age, height and availability.
We believe you. Some 8-year-olds could probably lap half the grown-ups before breakfast. The issue is not talent, it is group dynamics. On a public ride, one younger child naturally needs more guide attention, more pace changes and more decision-making at crossings, which changes the experience for everyone. So our rule is simple: under-13s ride privately. No ifs, no buts, and a much better day for your family.
We ride in ordinary London rain, and we have ponchos if needed. If conditions are genuinely unsafe, we will contact you and work through the sensible options. Direct bookings on our bike tours are covered by our money-back guarantee.
Most bike tours start at Tally Ho HQ, 189 Hercules Road, near Lambeth North station. Your confirmation email includes the exact address, map and arrival details. Private rides can sometimes start elsewhere, depending on the plan.
Because you are not just hiring a bike and following a flag. You are joining guides who know how to make London feel human: the stories, the corners, the pacing, the photos, the bit where a family stops negotiating and starts laughing. We have been doing this since 2011, and it shows.
